(BTW, why MS didn't configure the install to DETECT the version of Windows rather than default to the 32-bit version of Office is beyond my comprehension). They still recommend 32-bit unless you're working on huge workbooks because of plugin compatibility. Personally, I install the 64-bit version across the board and haven't had many issues.
Use ODT to deploy Office 365 ProPlus and Office 2019, the steps include download Office with /download and install Office with /configure. And we can use the same configuration.xml file for both downloading and installation.
I am trying to install Office 365 but it has been stuck at 2% for almost 45 minutes. It seems frozen and won't install any further, and despite my best efforts, I can't cancel the download so that I can shut down my computer.
For a possible solution, see Installation of Office hangs at 90%. Restart your computer and check if Office installed. The Office installation may have completed. So, after you've restarted your computer, go to Can't find Office applications in Windows 10, Windows 8, or Windows 7? To see if Office actually did install.
Note
Office 365 ProPlus is being renamed to Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise. For more information about this change, read this blog post.
